Nancy Drew
The Start of a Winter Mystery
1st-Mar-2009 10:57 pm
Nancy Drew shut the door of her blue roadster. She ran up to George Fayne's house and knocked on the door. As she was waiting for George to answer, she shivered a little. Boy, it's still pretty cold for the end of winter . She rubbed her hands together, and then put then in the pockets of her white coat.

Nancy had to bite her tongue to keep from asking anything else on what Bess had done that day. She looked over at George, who was staring intently at Nancy.

"I don't know. George is the one that invited us over," Nancy said, and smiled lightly at Bess.

George sighed, feeling a bit disappointed.

Strong enough to pick a gun, but so weak that she can't pull the trigger.

"I invited you guys over to come up with something. Because I'm bored, and I've been cleaning my car for two hours, which, I have to admit, also helped increase the bored meter."
9th-Mar-2009 04:49 am (UTC)
"You should've seen her, Bess. It was a riot!" Nancy exclaimed with a laugh. "Anyway...I wish I really did have another mystery to solve. This week has been totally boring!"

But as soon as Nancy said that, the three of them heard a scream coming from outside the Fayne's house. "Come on!" Nancy cried out, jumping from the couch.
9th-Mar-2009 04:53 am (UTC)
George's eyes widened in alarm.

The three got up and ran outside, looking for what caused the deafening cry.

George looked at her friends in wonder, and she knew that they were all asking questions inside.
9th-Mar-2009 04:57 am (UTC)
Nancy couldn't believe her eyes when she got outside. She just gaped, and couldn't move. A woman, not looking any older than them, was laying on the pavement, looking almost...dead. Nancy rushed to the girl's side, and kneeled.

"Bess, George, I need your help," Nancy called out. "I have a sinking feeling that a car hit her."
9th-Mar-2009 05:00 am (UTC)
George shook her head in surprise.

"I'll call in an ambulance." She offered, staring at the pale body, as she pulled out her phone. She knew that, as much as they would like to investigate first, the person's health mattered the most.
9th-Mar-2009 05:02 am (UTC)
Bess knelt down beside Nancy and studied the girl. She put her hand on the victim's wrist and tried to feel her pulse.
9th-Mar-2009 05:05 am (UTC)
Nancy whipped her head to Bess.

"Is she still breathing, Bess?" Nancy inquired, trying to sound calm. "I wonder how this could've happened. She was very brightly colored. Anyone could see her. But...I did her tires screech."

Nancy thought for a moment and as George came back, she looked at them. "Girls...I think we have another mystery to solve. This isn't an accident."
9th-Mar-2009 05:08 am (UTC)
"That's what I thought." George concluded along with Nancy. "I think it's intentional. The girl must have had some kind of feud with the offender." She added, looking around for small clues that would help.
9th-Mar-2009 05:10 am (UTC)
Bess felt some more and concentrated.

"I can't find a pulse!" She exclaimed, glancing at her cousin and friend in worry.
9th-Mar-2009 05:12 am (UTC)
Nancy almost paled. She knew this girl from somewhere, but wans't sure where.

"Bess, she must still be alive. Find a pulse! She's breathing...slowly though. Where's the ambulence?" Nancy demanded. She was frantic now.
9th-Mar-2009 05:19 am (UTC)
Bess tried her best to find a pulse as her friend requested of her.

"I really don't feel anything." She told them honestly.

The ambulance's siren soon rang noisily through the neighborhood, to the girls' relief.
9th-Mar-2009 10:17 pm (UTC)
Nancy breathed a sigh of relief as she heard the siren. She could tell the girl was still breathing...extremely slow though. She wasn't a doctor, but was used to seeing these things and knew how to detect them, but said no word.

"George, call up my dad. I'm going to call the Chief and tell him to meet us at the hospital. Bess, you're riding in the ambulance with the woman, and I'll wait for the Chief," Nancy said, running inside. "Oh, and everyone's meeting at the hospital!" Nancy called out, over her shoulder.
11th-Mar-2009 10:43 am (UTC)
Fayne sighed.

"I'm sure it's nothing to worry about...much." She said, trying to sound confident and sure. "The doctors are on it. She'll survive."
11th-Mar-2009 06:58 pm (UTC)
Nancy sighed and put her head in her chin.
"I hope she's alright. But I have a sinking feeling that I've seen her somewhere. But I don't know where, and it's bugging me," Nancy remarked.
14th-Mar-2009 06:06 am (UTC)
"But we have to let the girl chill first, after all the rush." George interrupted. "I don't think it would turn out good if you push all the questions too soon."
15th-Mar-2009 07:35 am (UTC)
"I'm still not contented. I want them to go out and tell me the girl's alright." Bess panicked. "They might count us as suspects if the girl doesn't talk! Oh my, oh my..I'm so nervous! I don't know how bad the accident went." She started moving her hands up and down, providing air at the sides of her face, as if it would help her calm down. But it didn't.
